VCO: CLV0989A-LF Features Exceptional Phase Noise for Low Cost Basestation Applications

Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) model CLV0989A-LF. The CLV0989A-LF operates over the frequency range of 939 to 1039 MHz within 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc of tuning. This revolutionary VCO features a spectrally clean signal of -109 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset while covering the bandwidth with a tuning linearity of 1.1:1 making it very simple to implement in any PLL system.

The high performance CLV0989A-LF is designed to deliver a nominal output power level of 0.5 dBm into a 50Ω load while operating off a 5 Vdc supply and drawing typically 25 mA of current. This low noise VCO operates with an average tuning sensitivity of 29MHz/V and is guaranteed over the extended commercial temperature range of -40 to 85ºC. The CLV0989A-LF features typical second harmonic suppression of -15 dBc and comes in Z-Comm’s standard, MINI-14S package measuring 0.5 in. x 0.5 in. x 0.22 in. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements making it ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.

The CLV0989A-LF is well suited for microwave radio and basestation applications that require low phase noise performance
