Clear Align Delivers New Long Range Zoom Lens

Target identification at 20km

EAGLEVILLE, Pa. -- Clear Align is proud to announce today that it has delivered first production units of its new MirZ 8017 Long Range Mid Wave Infrared Zoom Lens System. Designed to work with the latest generation of MWIR (Midwave Infrared) cooled detectors, the lens delivers unparalleled performance for an off-the-shelf infrared lens. Capable of resolving small targets (like a lit cigarette) at distances up to 20km, the lens offers fully compensated performance over a continuous zoom range from 1365mm Focal Length to 80mm Focal Length. Moreover, because of the infrared bandwidth, this lens works in conditions that stymie visible lenses: fog, smoke, haze, and pollution. This makes the lens ideal for surveillance, intelligence, and border control applications.

"As we continue to improve the performance and availability of long range zoom systems, we find that more markets are opening to us," said Angelique X. Irvin, CEO and President of Clear Align. "As new and improved cameras become available, we team with camera providers and customers to develop solutions optimized for particular platforms."

The MirZ 8017 is an IRZoom(TM) brand lens with a 17x continuous zoom capability with less than 0.65% distortion and resolution to 25 line pairs per millimeter. Suitable for use with low noise cooled detectors, the lens offers fully electronic zoom, focus, and thermal compensation calibrated over the full operating range so that focus is not lost as operating conditions are changed. The Athena(TM) controller board also offers user programmability to optimize performance for customer's operating regimes. Contact Clear Align or see us at Photonics West for more information.
