Metalcraft Announces Universal RFID Tags

RFID Journal LIVE! Booth #502 showcases small, long-range, all-surface tags for asset tracking

MASON CITY, IOWA - Metalcraft today announced availability of their Universal RFID Tags designed to deliver long read range regardless of the mounting surface. The small, durable products also feature custom printing of barcodes and other information on the label.

The Universal RFID Asset Tag and Universal Hard Tag will be on display at RFID Journal LIVE! booth 502 in Orlando, Fla. April 15 and 16.

"Our Universal RFID Tags represent Metalcraft's strongest effort to date in creating low-cost, durable products for asset tracking with RFID," said Metalcraft president Steve Doerfler. "Metalcraft's Universal RFID Tags allow you to procure only one tag for several surfaces without sacrificing function."

The Universal RFID Asset Tag has a read range of approximately 15 feet and measures 2.875 inches long by 1.375 inches wide and just .085 inches thick - the lowest profile among metal mount tags. The patent-pending inlay adheres to a durable, flexible label with subsurface printing that protects barcode, logo and other information chemicals and abrasion.

"Metalcraft's Universal RFID Asset Tag is the closest to a 'one-tag-fits-all' solution," said Doerfler. "Because it is so thin, the Universal RFID Asset Tag is ideal for tracking metal IT assets.

The Universal RFID Hard Tag has a read range of approximately 15 feet and measures 4.25 inches long by 1.75 inches wide with a .07 inch impact-resistant housing combined with ultrasonically welded seal that protects subsurface printed label and RFID inlay from harsh environments including harmful UV rays. It withstands heavy impact and will read after resurfacing from submersion in over 20 feet of water. The housing comes standard with two holes for mechanical fasteners, and permanent pressure-sensitive adhesive is also available as an optional affixing method. The Universal RFID Hard Tag's clear housing allows customers to read the customized label.

"We're showcasing these new tags at RFID Journal LIVE!, along with Metalcraft's other rugged, high-value RFID products," said Metalcraft president Steve Doerfler. "Metalcraft remains focused on delivering high-value RFID products to meet the evolving needs of RFID integrators and end users."
