Greenliant Shipping Industrial Temperature eMMC NANDrive(TM)

Embedded Solid State Drives for Long-Life Applications

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Greenliant Systems, a leader in energy-efficient, highly secure and reliable solid state storage products, is now mass producing its eMMC NANDrive(TM) embedded solid state drives (SSDs). The GLS85VM devices operate at full industrial temperatures between -40 and +85 degrees Celsius, giving customers data storage in a small, ball grid array (BGA) form factor that can withstand the most severe conditions.

All eMMC NANDrive SSDs have the same footprint in a 14mm x 18mm, 100-ball package, with 1mm ball pitch for increased long-term reliability. GLS85VM devices are compatible with JEDEC eMMC 4.4x and 4.3 standards. With a focus on meeting stringent customer requirements, Greenliant's fabless manufacturing operations are ISO 9001:2008 certified and eMMC NANDrive is manufactured in ISO/TS 16949:2009 facilities.

"From industrial computers and sensors to instrumentation and automotive systems, eMMC has been rapidly adopted by IntelŪ Bay Trail and a growing number of ARMŪ-based platforms," said Nobu Higuchi, vice president of application engineering and product marketing, Greenliant Systems. "eMMC NANDrive is ideally positioned to serve a variety of high-reliability applications."

Based on Greenliant's internally-developed NAND controller, eMMC NANDrive has advanced wear-leveling, bad block management and error correction code (ECC) capabilities to significantly extend the life of the product. It also includes power interrupt data protection and enhanced security features to safeguard sensitive data. NANDrive is available with 2-bits-per-cell (MLC) or 1-bit-per-cell (SLC) NAND to meet varying customer requirements for lifespan, endurance and performance.

Availability
GLS85VM series eMMC NANDrive SSDs are available now, and can be ordered through Greenliant authorized sales channels. Customers can also request NANDrive product samples and evaluation boards.

About NANDrive(TM) Products
NANDrive manages all NAND flash complexities and allows embedded system designers to quickly integrate mass data storage solutions into their designs without having to make any firmware changes. Because NANDrive complies with ATA and eMMC interface protocols supported by all standard embedded operating systems, designers no longer face costly, time-consuming host software revalidation cycles. To further ease system integration and simplify inventory management, NANDrive solves the compatibility and obsolescence issues of pairing a NAND controller with new NAND flash devices. As an integrated multi-chip package solution, NANDrive eliminates the need for long qualification cycles when there is a change of NAND flash technology; customers need only qualify the NANDrive as a mass storage subsystem.
