The Auto-Align Caster uses a spring-locking pin that, when engaged, keeps the caster rigid and tracking in a straight line. When sufficient side-load forces are applied, such as from an AGV's directional system, the caster disengages the spring-locking pin and swivels up to 180 degrees in either direction. The force needed to disengage the locking mechanism is adjustable for custom applications.
