Air Products to Introduce New Freshline® MP Tunnel Freezer at International Boston Seafood Show

Company's Newest Liquid Nitrogen Tunnel Freezer Delivers on Efficiency and Hygiene

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. -- Air Products (NYSE: APD) will introduce the company's new Freshline(®) MP tunnel freezer at the International Boston Seafood Show in Boston, Mass., from March 10-12. Designed with efficiency and hygiene in mind, the MP liquid nitrogen tunnel freezer uses unmatched heat transfer capability to achieve cryogenic temperatures throughout the entire length of the tunnel. The new freezer also meets or exceeds international cleanability standards with reduced gasketing and easily accessible surfaces that are slightly pitched to promote water run-off during cleaning.

Building on the best food freezing technology that Air Products has developed over the last 40 years, the new MP freezer squeezes the maximum energy out of every drop of liquid nitrogen. The freezer employs the latest in control technology, with a PLC-driven controller that operates all functions of the freezer while providing a visual representation of the freezer during operation. The MP freezer also has a touch screen interface tailored for food processing environments and an information tracking capability to help food processors optimize their operation.

Seafood show attendees are invited to stop by Booth #1074 to speak with an Air Products food specialist about their food processing challenges. As leaders in food freezing and cooling technology, Air Products can explain the many benefits of rapid cooling or freezing with liquid nitrogen?one of the earth's coldest refrigerants?such as improved food quality and increased productivity. Liquid nitrogen is also ideal for cooling foods in a multi-step production process, thus eliminating bottlenecks that can strain productivity in a food processor's operation.

Seafood processors can learn more about liquid nitrogen cooling and freezing by visiting Air Products' dedicated website at www.airproducts.com/freeze. Developed for both food processors currently cooling and/or freezing as well as those processors considering it, the website is loaded with educational and instructional videos, customer testimonials and literature, and interactive tools, such as the Freeze Time Calculator. Seafood processors can use the Freeze Time Calculator to see how much time and space they can save using liquid nitrogen process freezing or cooling with a Freshline tunnel versus a mechanical tunnel.

Air Products has been providing the food industry with solutions for freezing, chilling, coating, mixing, forming, packaging, and wastewater treatment for more than 40 years. The company has Freshline(®) solutions for every customer, from large manufacturers with multiple product lines, to small food processors with a niche product, and every operation in between. For more information about Air Products' complete line of offerings for the seafood industry, stop by Booth #1074 at the International Boston Seafood Show, call 800-654-4567, or visit www.airproducts.com/food.
