September 27, 2012 - Intended for hydrostatic level and temperature measurement, Model AST45PT provides 2 independent 4–20 mA output signals for level signal and temperature signal. Unit features measurement ranges from 1 psi (27.68 in. wc) to 100 psi (230.67 in. wc). Nose cone is installed on sensor to protect sensing element from damage during submersion, but can be removed to access ¼ in. NPT male pressure port. Constructed of stainless steel with no internal O-rings, sensor survives harsh environments.

Liquid Level Sensor Now with Temperature Output

Mt. Olive, NJ –  American Sensor Technologies, Inc. (AST) has released the AST45PT liquid level sensor for hydrostatic level and temperature measurement.  The AST45PT provides two independent 4-20mA output signals for a level signal and a temperature signal.  Users benefit from a single instrument installation, saving time and money.  With submersible cable being one of the more costly options for deeper level requirements, a single measurement point is a cost effective solution.  The AST45PT is priced starting at $395 each with quantity discounts available.

The low cost of the AST45PT does not take away from its available features.  With measurement ranges from 1 PSI (27.68" water column) to 100 PSI (230.67' water column), the AST45PT appeals to a wide range of applications.  AST offers five temperature ranges and eight cable length options to make integration simple.

Each AST45PT comes with a removable nose cone.  While it is installed on the sensor to protect the sensing element from damage during submersion, users have the option to remove it to access the 1/4" NPT male pressure port.  For example, if a customer is looking to take a pressure measurement externally from a tank in a flood prone area, the AST45PT will be an ideal solution.  Additionally, the sensor is designed with a ½" NPT conduit fitting at the electrical connection.  Conduit can be installed over the cable to provide rigidity in turbulent tanks or protection from sharp objects.
