Melcor Introduces New Compact, Low Cost 150 Watt Thermoelectric Liquid Chiller with Heating Option

Trenton, NJ, USA, June 2003 - MELCOR, a world leading manufacturer of thermoelectric cooling products and a subsidiary of NYSE listed Fedders Corporation, has expanded its closed-loop liquid chiller line through the development of a 150 Watt solid-state liquid chiller.

The MRC150 is a 150-Watt, dual voltage 115/230 AC, free standing thermoelectric liquid chiller used in many applications including Laser, Medical, and Laboratory.

This solid-state chiller is designed to use water or a coolant solution and offers a variety of benefits over traditional compressor based chillers such as no CFC's, 150 Watts of cooling (at deltaT=0), compactness, quietness, lower maintenance, high accuracy control to ±0.1°C (at constant ambient temperature and heat load), RS232 or RS485 serial communication and low cost. In addition, this unit has settable alarms for low and high temperature limits, and is dual voltage (115/230AC) for global use.

The MRC150 can be supplied with an optional heating capability of 125 Watts. This option provides the ability to maintain set point temperatures above ambient. It also enables improved response time and stability for systems with varying load requirements.

Its dimensions are 10.38"H x 7.25"W x 13.25"D (264mm x 184mm x 336mm), and the weight is 20 lbs (9.1 kg). Standard features include pump, reservoir, low fluid level detector and 7' (2.1m) detachable power cord (with plug) available in three global power configurations.

For more information on the MRC150 liquid chiller series, contact Kathy Salvatore at MELCOR, 1040 Spruce Street, Trenton, NJ 08648. TEL 609-393-4178; FAX 609-393-9461; melcor.com Email: tecooler@melcor.com
