New Liquid ChangeOver System with “Gas Saver” Circuit Provides Continuous Gas Flow From a Liquid Reserve

Plumsteadville, PA—Scott Specialty Gases recently introduced the Model 8404L Liquid ChangeOver Regulator System to eliminate costly downtime by providing constant, uninterrupted flow of specialty gases by directing flow from two separate dewars (or banks) to the point of use. It also reduces operating costs by permitting scheduled dewar change-outs, and by preventing outages and wasted gas due to premature dewar change-out. The Model 8404L further prevents waste with a unique “Gas Saver” circuit that directs the reserve dewar’s accumulated head gas pressure to the primary source where it can be used instead of being discharged to the atmosphere.

Recommended for high-purity and non-corrosive applications, the Model 8404L also protects system purity by allowing line purging and cleaning during dewar change-outs. Scott’s compact system combines a pressure-reducing regulator with high-purity diaphragm valves to direct flow of gas from two separate dewars or banks to the point of use. When one source empties, the system automatically draws from the second source so that the first source can be replenished without interruption of flow and outlet pressure to the point of use.

Constructed with a powder-coated steel chassis, the Model 8404L is designed for use with dewars having safety relief valve settings of 230, 350 or 500 psig. It is cleaned for oxygen service and is available with either nickel-plated brass or 316L body materials. Delivery pressure is adjustable from 10 to 150 psig (0.7 to 10 bar). A purge vent is located in the rear of the unit to enhance operator safety. Check valves located on the inlet of the Model 8404L prevent discharge of gas from manifold and pigtails when changing containers.

Scott’s Model 8404L Liquid ChangeOver Regulator System is available for purchase online at www.scottgas.com or by calling 800-654-2737 toll-free. Scott Specialty Gases is a recognized world leader in the development and supply of mixed and pure gases for all applications. Scott’s Equipment Group maintains an extensive inventory of high-performance gas handling equipment with same-day shipping on most items. Custom specialty gas delivery systems are also available.
