Linear Guide System
Modern Linear Inc. introduces the Vector Trio linear guide system. The Vector Trio incorporates standard v-groove guide rollers and track in a patent-pending, compliant design. 3 rollers are fixed to the carriage plate and roll between 2 track sections to give a compact design. The compliant rail feature eliminates the need for carriage set-up or adjustment. The product is available in 3 sizes with radial load capacity up to 1382 lbs. Rail lengths are available up to 12 feet. By way of introduction, Modern Linear is a 4 year old company that makes and sells guide roller based linear components. We are in the process of introducing a new line of linear guide products that we are very excited about. The Vector line of linear guides will consist of several styles and sizes but all will include our patent-pending compliant rail design feature. This feature is totally unique for this type of product. All competing designs have adjustable carriages which allow/require the user to set the fit-up of the carriage to match the rail. This design is costly to produce, requires extra time to install in the application, and can come out of adjustment due to time and vibration. The Vector design does not need the adjustable carriage feature saving cost. The rail maintains a light preload that compensates for machining inaccuracies and tolerance stack-up. It also self-adjusts due to wear over the life of the system. Initial set-up and future adjustments are eliminated.
