Ametek Introduces the Latest Advancement In Linear Displacement Transducer Technology

GEMCO® 953 Series Vmax(TM) LDT Offers Versatility, Accuracy and Reliability

CLAWSON, MI - The new GEMCO® 953 Series Vmax(TM) Linear Displacement Transducer (LDT) from AMETEK Automation & Process Technologies was developed to meet the most demanding processing challenges, regardless of application or operating environment.

The highly versatile Vmax LDT offers accurate and reliable absolute position indication with high resolution and precision repeatability. The Vmax LDT is resistant to contaminants and environmental conditions and is IP68 rated. It's rugged and durable construction is designed to meet the most demanding applications. It's vibration and shock resistance ensures long product life.

The LDT is easy to install and set up. It features the latest generation of magnetostrictive position-sensing technology with factory calibrated zero point. Custom configurations are available to meet specific end user requirements.

The Vmax LDT offers a programmable span, an active measuring range of up to 300 inches, and variable power supply voltages ranging from 7 to 30 VDC. The LDT features visual and electronic diagnostic feedback. A tri-color LED indicator verifies proper operation and distinct diagnostics for quick troubleshooting.

Applications include steel mills, primary and secondary metals processing such as stamping, roll forming and die-casting, lumber and forest products equipment, rubber and plastic injection-molding and extrusion equipment, and material handling machinery.

The GEMCO Vmax LDT offers a variety of analog output signals (0 to 10 VDC, or 4 to 20mA) for maximum connectivity and utilizes standard off-the-shelf cordsets for maximum value. Its low power consumption (1 watt typical) allows direct connection to display and control interface modules.

GEMCO LDTs are known for their flawless performance in extreme environmental conditions and are the preferred product for fast and accurate continuous linear position feedback. They are able to detect movement down to .001 inches and report that information every millisecond.
