Utilizing frictionless/stictionless flexures for zero mechanical noise, Linear Focus Actuators feature 150 nm resolution voice coil stages with central clear aperture from 0.236-0.787 in. Ranging from ±12 to ±24 Vdc at 1 A, voice coil motors offer 0.118-0.394 in. travel, 6.0 lb-ft continuous force, and 30 lb-ft peak force. Actuators are clean room compatible and can be operated in horizontal or vertical orientation.

Sunnyvale, CA, - High speed, 150 nanometer (0.000005905512 inches) resolution voice coil stages with a central clear aperture ranging from 6 mm (0.236 in.), to 20 mm (0.787 in.) are ideal for micro positioning and optical focusing applications. The compact, high precision Equipment Solutions' Linear Focus Actuators, utilize patented frictionless/stictionless flexures for very high responsiveness and zero mechanical noise. Typical applications include: optical focusing, scanning, interferometry, surface structure analysis, disk drive testing, autofocus systems, confocal microscopy, biotechnology, and semiconductor test equipment.
The low inertia, ± 12 VDC to ± 24 VDC, @1 amp, voice coil motors of the Linear Focus Actuators has very low electrical noise, 3 mm (0.118 in.) to 10 mm (0.394 in.) travel, and 813.5 Ncm continuous force (6.0 ft-lbs) 4067 Ncm peak (30 ft-lbs). A very compact, Linear Focus Actuator, with 3mm (0.118 in.) travel, as well as large diameter central clear apertures and custom solutions are available. They are clean room compatible and can be operated in a horizontal or vertical orientation. Standard lens "C" mounts are provided on both the stator and translator elements, and DIN standard microscope objective adapters are available. For easy mounting of the actuators, mounting holes are on several surfaces.
For easy integration into a new or existing application the matching SCA824 Linear Servo Controller is available from Equipment Solutions. It is a high performance single axis DC motor controller and amplifier that was developed for applications requiring high temporal and spatial servo precision.
