Bishop-Wisecarver Announces New SRX-150 Heavy Duty Linear Actuator
Compact Design Handles Tough Loads
Pittsburg, CA - - August 25, 2006 - - Today, Bishop-Wisecarver Corporation, manufacturer of the original DualVee® guide wheels and industry leader in guided motion technology, announced its newest product line, the heavy duty SRX-150. The company will unveil the high precision, compact aluminum profile linear actuator at IMTS 2006 in Chicago, IL, September 6, 2006. Available in belt or ball screw driven versions, the SRX-150 rounds out the company's extensive product line, with a unit capable of extraordinary loads.
With a smaller footprint than similar units, the SRX-150 provides up to double the roll moment capacity of comparable screw driven products, and nearly 5 times that of other belt driven actuators. SRX-150 can handle the toughest load - to 66kN dynamic load rating - with speeds up to 5 m/s.

Zero backlash, high speed and long stroke operation make the SRX-150 excellent for high load gantry systems, pick and place, and heavy transfer equipment for industries such as automotive/transportation, industrial packaging, heavy machinery and glass handling.
Standard features include NSK K1 Lubrication Units for maintenance free operation, and end of travel high energy absorbing bumpers, which help to eliminate damage caused by accidental crashes, particularly during system setup. A stainless steel sealing strip protects the linear guides and ball screws from particulate ingress.
Both the ball screw and belt driven units incorporate NSK LW Series Linear Rolling Guides. The ball screw SRX-150 uses NSK LPR Series High Lead Precision Rolled Ball Screws, Grade Ct7, for high accuracy.
Optional accessories include enclosed linear encoders for up to 1 micrometer resolution, integral gearheads with less than 3 arcminutes of backlash, proximity sensors, and a wide array of motor mounts, connecting brackets, line shafts and couplers.
