November 9, 2004 - Configurable IX Protection Platform provides surge and lightning protection for data and Power Over Ethernet applications. Model IX-H suits applications up to 100 Mbps, such as Cat 5, UTP, and STP while Model IX-L supports applications up to 25 Mbps including T1/E1, RS422, and RS485. Model IX-M is targeted at RS232 platforms, and Model IX-DC24/48 fits 24 or 48 Vdc voltage power supplies. All are UL497B listed and meet BELLCORE 1089 10/1000 µs at 100 A specifications.

New Configurable Protection Platform for Data and Power Over Ethernet
CAT 5 compatibility
The new configurable IX Protection Platform from PolyPhaser provides surge and lightning protection for data and Power Over Ethernet (POE) applications. The CAT5-compatible design features cascaded (multi-stage protection), and its modularity suits the protection platform to a wide variety of system configurations.
The IX protection platform is available in four main versions: IX-H suits applications up to 100Mbps, such as Cat 5, UTP and STP; IX-L has been designed for applications up to 25Mbps including T1/E1, RS422 and RS485; IX-M is targeted at RS232 platforms; and IX-DC24/48 fits 24 or 48V DC voltage power supplies.
IX Protection Platforms are UL497B listed and meet BELLCORE 1089 10/1000µs @ 100A specifications. Indoor and outdoor models are available, with the outdoor units meeting BELLCORE #TA-NWT-000487, Procedure 4.11 Wind Driven Rain intrusion standards. The operating temperature range is -40 to +50 degrees Celsius. Units withstand vibration tests of 1G @ 5-100Hz.
