It utilizes cascaded protection circuit resulting in let-through voltage of 48 Vpk and throughput energy of 1,000 µJ for 3 kA at 8/20 µs waveform. Unit provides low insertion loss of 1 dB and RF power of 50 W. Featuring 75 ohm F female connectors, flange mountable lightning protector passes telemetry frequencies of 10–150 kHz and 10–100 MHz.

New Lightning Protector for Broadband Wireless and Satellite Applications
Now available from Smiths Interconnect – PolyPhaser is the new MDS+24-F-F lightning protector, designed for broadband wireless and satellite applications from 300 to 2500MHz. Offering low throughput energy and multi-strike capability, Polyphaser’s new lightning protector delivers industry leading RF performance.
The MDS+24-F-F utilises a cascaded (multi-stage) protection circuit resulting in low let-through voltage (48Vpk) and throughput energy (1000µJ for 3kA at 8/20µs waveform). It also provides very low insertion loss of just 1dB. RF power is 50 Watts.
The new device will pass telemetry frequencies of 10 kHz to 150 kHz and 10 MHz to 100 MHz. In addition to the RF, the unit will pass up to 24Vdc to power up amplifiers and other tower top electronics. The MDS+24-F-F lightning protector comes with 75 Ohm F female connectors and is flange mountable.
