Appleton Areamaster(TM) Light Fixtures Help Commercial & Industrial Facilities Meet New Federal Regulations

ROSEMONT, IL, February 26, 2009 - Federal regulations ban new installation of mercury vapor lamps and probe-start 150W to 500W metal halide lighting ballasts. For those electricians accustomed to specifying these lamp types, Appleton is now offering its complete line of commercial and industrial floodlights, including its popular Areamaster(TM), with more energy-efficient high-pressure sodium lamps and pulse-start metal halide ballasts that accommodate the new guidelines.

An excellent choice for outdoor shopping malls, hotels, parking lots, industrial process lighting, and sports arenas, Appleton Areamaster fixtures combine a state-of-the-art design with stylish elegance. Installation is fast and easy, with a choice of either pole or yoke mounting.

The Areamaster(TM) features a one-piece pressure-clad housing machined from copper-free aluminum, and is finished with rich bronze polyester for superior resistance to corrosion. For an added measure of protection against adverse environments, the lens is made of thermal-shock, impact-resistant glass.

An Alzak® aluminum reflector maximizes energy-efficiency and promotes brighter lighting. Compared to conventional floodlights, the Areamaster offers cooler operating temperatures, an advantage that means a longer service life.
