Infinilux Introduces New 550 lumen, RoHS Compliant, InfiniPower(TM) Light Engine with Integrated Multi-Optic Design.

New 550 Lumen InfiniPower advanced-optics light engines allow designers to rapidly develop high-power luminaries, fixtures, backlights and general illumination products and are RoHS and WEEE compliant ensuring worldwide compatibility.

Carson, CA, December 27, 2005 - Infinilux, announces the introduction of their first 550 lumen proprietary InfiniPower light engine featuring Cree Xlamp(TM) technology in cool-white (6500K) output. This 4.88" (114.0mm) diameter module was specifically designed to address the needs of designers worldwide that require a simple solid-state light engine to power general illumination products. These modules are designed around the industry leading Cree XLamp technology and incorporate a proprietary 0.157" (4mm) thick metal core printed circuit board (MCPCB), which allows for the control of thermal dissipation while providing an economical "plug and play" mounting methods.

The InfiniPower IP-11 Series operates at 38 VDC at 350ma and features a standard 100-degree viewing angle that can be collimated with optional stock optics to either 15 or 30 degrees. Each LED has accessory mounting features to accommodate Infinilux optics so combinations of viewing angles can be used to achieve a wide variety of light dispersion patterns form a single InfiniPower light engine. Custom housings, lenses, optics and regulated power sources are available; please contact the factory for custom tailored designs.

Median life expectancy at room temperature is in excess of 25,000 hours, which is up to 10x the life expectancy of the average incandescent light source.

Simple connection to a regulated power source via two solder pads is fast and economical accelerating the design cycle and increasing manufacturing throughput. No specialized epoxies, ovens or curing time is required as with other high-power LED modules. The IP-11 is 100% RoHS compliant.

The new module is ideally suited for general lighting, safety and security, recreational vehicle/marine cabin lighting and backlighting of signage, legends and displays. The InfiniPower IP-11 module can be used as well in a host of application specific lighting projects at the consumer and OEM level.

Anthony Vilgiate, Infinilux Staff Research Consultant said, "The IP-11 modules are ground breaking for a number of reasons; first they put out a adequate amount of light to be a practical replacement for a standard light bulb, secondly they draw under 15 watts of energy providing significant long-term cost savings and lastly they last an inordinately long time which lowers maintenance and replacement costs indefinitely."

InfiniPower IP-11 modules are immediately available from stock with standard pricing starting at under $100.00 per module (non-optic) and $125.00 for models equipped with accessory optics.
