New Non-Sagging Light Cure Adhesive Fluoresces Red for Easy On-Part Detection

Red-Fluorescing, Medical and Industrial-Grade Light Cure Adhesive in Gel Formulation

Rocky Hill, Conn. - For medical device and industrial assembly applications, Henkel Corporation has introduced new LoctiteŽ 3979(TM) Light Cure Adhesive, a translucent, non-sagging gel formulation designed to fill moderate gaps without migrating beyond its intended location. LoctiteŽ 3979(TM) cures in seconds upon exposure to UV/visible light, and fluoresces red for easy on-part detection prior to or following cure.

LoctiteŽ 3979(TM) Light Cure Adhesive offers high adhesion (up to 3500 psi) on plastic, metal and glass substrates and is ideal for use on parts that feature inherent blue fluorescing agents. This single-component, gel viscosity adhesive offers excellent performance on vertical or porous surfaces as it will not drip, run or migrate. Curing to depths greater than 0.25-inches, LoctiteŽ 3979(TM) is ISO-10993 biocompatible and can be used for bonding or sealing a range of medical devices including medical tubing and fluid/respiratory devices.

This non-drip adhesive cures tack-free on exposure to the appropriate intensity of UV/visible light. LoctiteŽ 3979(TM) will withstand temperatures ranging from -65° to 300°F. Available in both 25 ml syringes and 300 ml cartridges, LoctiteŽ 3979(TM) can be dispensed manually or with automated dispense equipment. This adhesive can be used in a range of applications including medical device, appliance, electrical component, electronic, wire tacking, and general industrial bonding and sealing.
