Arena Products Introduces the Arena Starfish Lift that Integrates Pumps and Mixers with the Arena A33O Shipper(TM) System at West Pack
ROCHESTER, NY - Arena Products will demonstrate its new ARENA STARFISH(TM) LIFT an ergonomically designed device that enables the safe and easy positioning of top-discharge pumps and mixers. When used with the Arena A330 Shipper(TM) and the Arena Air-Evac® Starfish(TM) Liner, the Starfish Lift supports efficient discharge of viscous products. Arena will exhibit the product at West Pack for the first time February 9-11 Anaheim, CA, booth 5111.
The STARFISH(TM) LIFT SYSTEM is used when top-discharge (pumping product from the top fitment of the liner bag) processes lend to a more successful discharge by reducing residual and the need for operator intervention. The Starfish Lift is an ergonomically safe way to raise and lower top-discharge, positive-displacement pumps, such as progressive cavity or piston pumps or mixers in and out of the A330 Shipper(TM). It makes staging the shipper at the feed end of the fill line, virtually a single-person operation.
Once the shipper is in position, the operator can roll the lift, with the pump already cleaned and prepped off-line, right up to the shipper and lower the pump (or a mixer) into the product. The pump can be used in conjunction with a spanner bar or the pump can be directly attached to the bag using an Arena Liner Lock.
The lift's remote control pendent allows a single operator to lower and raise the pump, while guiding the throat of the pump into or out of the top fitment of the liner. Once the pump is in position to discharge, the operator has a choice of detaching the pump from the lift to use it in another staging or to leave it suspended from the lift for the entirety of the discharge. The Starfish Lift is powered by a 24VDC rechargeable battery, so there is no need for electrical cords, outlets or compressed air to operate the lift.
The STARFISH(TM) LIFT SYSTEM is designed to maximize Arena Air-Evac® liners. The Air-Evac® liners are available for use with the Arena 330 Shipper and can be produced to fit a variety of intermediate bulk containers. The bag technology is already being used successfully to extract mayonnaise, caramel, ice cream mixes and flavorings, tooth paste, hand lotion, and other high viscosity products. The potential markets for the application include dairy, beverage, dressings and condiments, health and beauty aids, confectionaries, and chemicals.
