Presagia Solution Helps Employers Navigate Overlapping ADA and FMLA Regulations


MONTREAL, Sept. 21 /-- Presagia, provider of software solutions for integrated absence & disability management, today announced the release of its ADA Toolkit, which will facilitate employers' efforts to comply with complex and overlapping FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) regulations. Presagia's ADA Toolkit will supplement Presagia's Leave Management solution, which enables customers to implement streamlined leave processes based on best-practices. Presagia will be demonstrating this new functionality at the HR Technology Conference in Chicago, September 30 - October 1, 2009.

Many employers do not realize that employees denied leave under FMLA and other similar leaves may in fact be eligible for job-protected leave as an accommodation under the ADA, exposing them to significant legal risk. Following expert legal guidance, Presagia has developed new functionality in its Leave Management solution to automatically identify specific criteria in these leave cases and flag those that may be eligible for leave as an accommodation. Once a leave case is flagged, the system prompts the user to answer a series of questions designed to help them determine if the ADA is in fact applicable. With this best-practice guidance, employers can better address the complex interplay between the ADA and FMLA, further promoting adherence to leave and accommodation regulations and reducing exposure to risk.
