Laser makes crystal-clear markings in plastics and metals.
March 24, 2005 - Model LMV1000G diode-pumped, solid-state laser marker features 532 nm wavelength output and is suited for high-speed precision marking applications. Employing Nd:YV04 lasing medium, it can produce machine- and human-readable marks on gold-plated electronic components without removing any gold. Product is capable of producing line widths down to 20 microns, characters down to 100 microns, and data matrix codes with 20-micron cell sizes.

New LMV1000G Laser Marker Produces Fine Marking of Precious Metals and Plastics
MONROVIA, CA - February 8, 2005 Unitek Miyachi Corporation has announced the introduction of their model LMV1000G diode-pumped solid state laser marker, specifically designed for high-speed precision marking applications on both plastics and metals. The LMV1000G complements the company's existing marker products by offering a 532nm wavelength laser output, thereby expanding the types of materials that can be successfully and economically laser marked.
The 532nm output wavelength is optimal for crystal clear marking many plastics and precious metals. Of particular interest is its ability to provide excellent machine- and human-readable marks on gold-plated electronic components without removing any of the gold, thus preserving the corrosion resistance and electrical properties of the plating.
The LMV1000G also employs an Nd:YV04 ("Vanadate") lasing medium and end pumping technology that offers a number of advantages including: higher peak power density, shorter Q-switch pulse durations, and better beam quality. The result is a smaller spot size, finer line thickness and smaller character or feature sizes. It can produce line widths down to 20 microns, character sizes down to 100 microns and data matrix codes with 20-micron cell sizes using standard length lenses, such that working distances remain practical.
Unitek Miyachi designs and manufacturers a full range of resistance welding and reflow soldering power supplies, heads, monitors and accessories for both large scale and fine spot applications requiring precision metals joining. The company offers applications development support at no charge. Company Headquarters is located at 1820 S. Myrtle Ave., Monrovia, CA 91016.
