January 31, 2003 - Pegasus-PIV dual-head, high repetition rate, diode-pumped Nd:YLF laser system features 10 mJ of 527 nm light output at 1000 Hz, making is suitable for Particle Image Velocimetry applications. It includes dual cavity laser head, single power supply, and chiller. Laser heads may be independently triggered internally, through external TTL trigger, or by computer via RS-232. Each operates from 1–5000 pulses/sec, allowing camera frame rates up to 10,000 frames/sec.

New Wave Research Introduces High Repetition Rate Laser System for High-Speed PIV Applications

Pegasus-PIV To Be Featured at Photonics West Booth #814, January 28-30 in San Jose, California

Fremont, Calif., January 28, 2003 – New Wave Research introduces Pegasus-PIV, a compact, dual-head, high-repetition-rate, diode-pumped Nd:YLF laser system. Pegasus-PIV features 10 mJ of 527-nm light output at 1000 Hz, making it ideal for high-speed or time resolved Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) applications such as turbulent flow studies, jet aircraft performance analysis and micro-PIV.

“We designed the Pegasus-PIV to support PIV applications that demand a reliable, compact, green laser source that allows extremely high camera frame rates,” said Ed North, vice-president of New Wave Research. “In fact, each of the Pegasus laser heads operates from 1-5000 pulses per second, allowing camera frame rates up to 10,000 frames per second. And each laser pulse is uniform with the same pulse width and intensity.”

Standard equipment for the Pegasus-PIV includes a dual cavity laser head, a single power supply, and a chiller. To facilitate set-up and save valuable lab space, the Pegasus-PIV laser head measures just 17 x 8 x 5.75 inches and weighs 25 lbs. Also, its 10-foot umbilical allows installation of the power supply and chiller away from the laser head. For operating convenience and versatility, each laser head may be independently triggered either internally, through an external TTL trigger, or by computer via RS-232.

Pegasus is the most recent addition to New Wave Research’s complete line of PIV laser systems. Other systems feature energy levels ranging from 15 mJ to 200 mJ at 532 nm, and repetition rates from 1 to 15 Hz, or 1 to 30 Hz, depending on the model selected.

Established in 1990, New Wave Research endeavors to lead in the creation, development and manufacture of high-quality, laser-based systems and modules for microelectronics and analytical instrumentation applications. Laser source for PIV

I need a dual cavity laser around 30 mj power with 532 nm wavelength for my Micro PIV setup.

I would be appreciated if you would send me your avail products and their prices.

Thanks,

Davoud
