Handheld Models MT1888 and MT1888A are Laser Source/Spot Simulators for use in missile testing and pre-flight checkup of laser-guided munitions such as Hellfire, Hellfire II, AGM-65E, and Paveway. They are field programmable using thumbwheel switches. Users can select any PRF code from 1111 to 1888 (MT1888) or Army PIM codes (Alternate Codes) from 4111 to 4888 (MT1888A), which will cause LSS to emit modulated laser return at wavelength of 1064 nm.

Geotest Unveils New Hand-Held Laser Source Simulator (LSS) at ATC
AUTOTESTCON 2002, Huntsville, AL - Geotest-Marvin Test Systems, Inc., a global supplier of electronic test equipment for aerospace, semiconductors, telecom, medical, industrial and military applications announces the release of the MT1888 and MT1888A, hand-held Laser Source/Spot Simulators (LSS) for use in missile testing and pre-flight checkup of laser-guided munitions such as Hellfire, Hellfire II, AGM-65E, Paveway and more.
The MT1888 and MT1888A are state-of-the-art LSS used for the testing seekers of laser guided munitions. As a hand-held LSS, the MT1888/MT1888A can be used in the field (0-level) or in the shop to exercise laser seekers, simulating the laser return of the lased target.
The MT1888/MT1888A are field programmable using thumbwheel switches. Users can select any PRF code from 1111 to 1888 (MT1888) or Army PIM codes (Alternate Codes) from 4111 to 4888 (MT1888A), which will cause the LSS to emit a modulated laser return at a wavelength of 1,064 nM. Laser energy is being emitted only when the ACTIVATE pushbutton is pressed and since the MT1888/MT1888A use extremely low power output, they can be used without protective (safety) goggles.
