December 10, 2009 - Featuring 500 mm long Z-axis travel to accommodate components of various sizes, TruMark Station 5000 can be equipped with two 300 mm long linear axes as well as one rotating axis. Linear axes have integrated motor driver that facilitates retrofit, if necessary, and can be correctly positioned by pressing one button. While designed ergonomically, product offers X/Y travel speed of 6.0 m/min and Z travel speed of 1.5 m/min. Also, suction unit compensates for emissions during operation.

Operating Speeds 3 Times Faster and Travel Paths 3 Times Longer

The marking station TruMark Station 5000 enables shorter processing times and flexible retrofitting

Ditzingen, With numerous technical enhancements, the new TruMark Station 5000 marking station follows the proven first generation of the Series 5000 product line. The user benefits include:
  • Longer traverse paths and higher travel speeds in the linear axes that are available as a complete module which can be installed by hand in just a few steps.
  • A more powerful suction unit that enables marking processes with strong materials removal.
  • During development of the new workstation, design engineers paid particular attention to ergonomics.
  • Enhanced ergonomics for greater user comfort and optimal efficiency.

The new TruMark Station 5000 has a Z-axis travel path that is 200 millimeters longer than the predecessor model. Now 500 millimeters long, the traverse path offers even greater flexibility in marking larger components in a variety sizes. In addition, the laser system can be equipped with two linear axes (length 300 millimeters) as well as a rotating axis. This allows the TruMark Station 5000 to precisely adapt to each marking task. The linear axes have a fundamentally new control concept with an integrated motor driver that makes retrofitting the workstation, if that's necessary, easy. The travel speeds of the X- and Y-axes are three times faster, which leads to less time between two marking cycles when the workstation is loaded with several workpieces at once. The axes can be correctly positioned manually with the push of a button.

TRUMPF also enhanced the suction unit in the new TruMark Station 5000. During the process of marking many parts, emissions are produced during material removal. The stronger suction unit takes into account the increased laser outputs of the marking lasers in the TruMark Series 3000, 5000 and 6000, all of which can be integrated into the workstation. Faster materials processing normally leads to higher particle emissions, but the new workstation reliably compensates for these emissions.

In addition to the technical enhancements, operators benefit from the workstation's improved ergonomic design. For example, access to the workstation has been improved considerably, simplifying work preparation and the loading and unloading of parts. Users can program how wide the door should open. This function, which has been proven on the TruMark Station 7000 laser workstation, reduces time between loading and unloading. The workstation can be operated either from a sitting or a standing position thanks to its intelligent design.

The system's compact design also gives more flexibility in selecting the installation location. All of the sensors from the laser and workstation can be maintained easily and securely worldwide using the TRUMPF TelePresence Portal.
