Original Press Release:

Model LT2000 Laser Tube Cutting System for Small Tubes Available from AltaMAR Laser and Control in 2006

Minneapolis, MN December 15, 2005 - Today AltaMAR Laser and Control announces the introduction of a new product called the Model LT2000 Laser Cutting System for Small Tubes. This system will be offered to customers who fabricate tubular components from round tubing with diameters as small as 0.125" or as large as 1.0".

The LT2000 can produce completed parts in one process - end profiles and internal features are cut in one pass. With the high-speed, flexibility, and excellent edge quality of laser cutting, the LT2000 is ideal for manufacturers and job shops who need the ability to produce tubular parts in quantities from a few prototypes to tens of thousands. Targeted at medical, food processing, and electronics markets, the LT2000 will provide a fabrication option with more flexibility than conventional methods such as EDM or screw machines.

Available with a variety of laser sources, including CO2, YAG, and fiber, the LT2000 Laser Tube Cutting System is capable of cutting mild steel, stainless, aluminum, or non-metals of various sizes and wall thicknesses. An innovative back-strike system prevents the formation of debris on the ID of the tube. The LT2000 accepts tubes to 12 feet, yet retains a small footprint. Optional automatic in-feed and out-feed systems allow for unattended operation.

Built with standard components, the LT2000 is simple to operate and easy to maintain. The controller is PC based with a touch-screen user interface. An editor with easy-to-use programming tools is provided to generate programs for profiled ends and common internal features. High-level programming tools are available to generate programs with imported CAD geometry. The LT2000 operates with standard G and M codes.
