WHITE PLAINS, NY, June 23, 2005--Paxar Corporation (NYSE: PXR), a global leader providing merchandising systems including bar code, RFID and identification technologies for leading apparel manufacturers and the retail supply chain, has developed two labeling tapes specifically designed for the demanding requirements of the over-dye and industrial laundering markets. The 4760DWT dye-resistant care label tape and the 4700THS heat seal label tape both offer excellent print quality on durable fabrics that remain soft against skin.
The 4760DWT thermal transfer fabric tape, for sewn-in care labels, is resistant to dye pick-up, remaining legible even after going through black residual dyes. While it is strong enough to be used in industrial and denim washes, the label is soft enough for next-to-skin applications. Made of coated polyester tape that can be printed on both sides, the labels can print as small as three-point fonts. Unlike coated nylon labels, the 4760DWT remains relatively flat even after repeated launderings.
The 4700THS heat seal tape is a thermal transfer tape with an industrial heat seal that stands up to abrasive washing. The heat seal backing does not delaminate even after repeated washing. The tape offers excellent print quality, which makes it ideal for bar code tracking labels.
Both tapes were developed to work with Paxar’s printers, including the new SNAP 500 printer (www.snap500.com), an in-plant, electronic, thermal transfer care label printer designed to print one- or two-sided labels on coated, satin and heat seal tapes.
