Rectangular RopeLED Approaches Accent Lighting from a New Angle

TORRANCE, CA - July 22, 2003 - LEDtronics® announces Series RPLD02 Rectangular RopeLED, its newest offering in LED (Light Emitting Diode) accent lighting. Measuring 0.4"H
(10.5mm) by 0.7"W (18mm), Series RPLD02 rectangular profile enables it to fit snugly against surfaces that feature right angles. Rectangular RopeLED features 21 LEDs per foot (72 per meter) that are spaced 0.55" (13.9mm) apart. RopeLED tubes are marked at intervals where they can be cut, allowing you to
customize the length or to splice together different colored RopeLED segments. Choose from red, blue, green, yellow and white LED colors. RopeLED comes standard in 120V; 12V DC and 240V are available options.

RopeLED is easy to install. Simply connect the RopeLED to the appropriate end of a power cord cable (purchased separately) then plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. RopeLED can he held in place with small plastic clips that snap onto the tube, and then nailed, screwed or glue to an adjacent
surface. RopeLED's weather-resistant PVC construction makes it suitable for both outdoor and indoor uses. RopeLED can be employed indoors for emergency pathway lighting, to accent staircases, closets, cabinets, ceilings, etc. Outdoors uses include, but are not limited to, lighting decks, pathways, theme
parks, trees, building edge decor lighting and driveways.

Colored PVC tubes are not needed since LEDs emit colored light. The color is determined by the composition of the semiconductor material comprising the diode. Intensity and color remain stable over lamp's lifetime. LED technology is an energy-efficient light source; saving 80% - 90% of energy costs as compared with equivalent incandescent lighting. What's more, RopeLED doesn't get hot so there is no risk of getting burned when you touch it.

Solid-state design renders LEDs impervious to electrical and mechanical shock, vibration, frequent switching and environmental extremes. With an average life span of 100,000-plus hours (11 years) for LEDs, RopeLEDs operate reliably year after year and provide architects, retail store display creators,
entertainment designers and other lighting professionals with a practical way to integrate ornamental illumination into maintenance-intensive applications such as casinos, theme and amusement parks, stage lighting, carnivals, and theaters.

Prices for RopeLED range from $189.00 - $82.00 per meter depending on LED color. Large quantity discounts are available. Availability is stock to 4 - 6 weeks for special requirements.
