TunnelPass® LED Luminaires from Acuity Brands Offer a Sustainable Solution for Tunnels and Underpasses
New Holophane LED fixtures provide long-term reliability while reducing energy consumption by up to 50 percent.
ATLANTA – Acuity Brands, Inc. (NYSE: AYI) introduces new TunnelPass® LED luminaires from Holophane® to meet the rigorous demands of any tunnel or underpass environment, while boosting lighting uniformity and color rendering index (CRI) to improve visibility. Distinguished by the 2013 Illuminating Engineering Society Progress (IES) Report, the LED fixtures decrease energy consumption by up to 50 percent compared to high intensity discharge (HID) fixtures. They offer up to 100,000 hours of reliable operation for reduced maintenance and minimal lane closures.
TunnelPass LED luminaires combine a borosilicate prismatic glass refractor for durability, permanence, and glare control with an optimized thermal management system to extend fixture service life. A high performance segmented reflector system offers three light distribution options – ceiling mount counterbeam, ceiling mount long and narrow and wall mount crossbeam – to meet IES RP22-11 requirements either as a retrofit or for new construction.
The new LED luminaires are versatile enough to be ceiling or wall mounted, with the units capable of being adapted to unistrut or mounted over an outlet box. All drivers have 0 to 10 volt dimming capability, allowing the lumen output to be changed as required by a control system. The fixtures are also available with optional lumen packages to maximize energy savings and are designed to replace 100-watt through 400-watt high pressure sodium.

TunnelPass LED luminaires feature a robust design with IP66 rating, low copper 360 alloy castings and a durable paint finish designed to meet a 9,000-hour salt fog rating. The LED luminaires have a UL 40ºC wet location rating and a 3G vibration rating.
New TunnelPass LED luminaires are easy to install and are shipped with the mounting brackets attached to facilitate installation by one individual. The fixtures are recommended for roadway and rail tunnels and underpasses.
