GE's New LED Solution

Bright and Simple: GE's new LED solution provides powerful white light and simplified installation for large channel letter signage

Cleveland - Clear, distinct signage on store fronts and buildings is critical in creating brand awareness among consumers. To help sign manufacturers create effective, attention-grabbing signs for large applications, GE Lighting Solutions, formerly GE Lumination, is launching the new Tetra® PowerMAX LED (light-emitting diodes) lighting system that produces bright, white light and outstanding uniformity in channel letters greater than 3 feet tall.

Tetra PowerMAX uses patent-pending OptiLens(TM), a remarkable lens technology that helps distribute high-output light towards the sign face in a broad, uniform pattern. This innovative optical lens improves light uniformity and eliminates hot spots that can negatively affect brand image.

"Now all of GE's Tetra LED channel letter lighting systems, Tetra® miniMAX, Tetra® MAX and Tetra PowerMAX, operate on the same 12-volt platform and use the same power supplies and accessories," says Eric Stevenson, product general manager, GE Lighting Solutions. "This makes it easier for customers to stock inventory with a few core components rather than a variety of pieces specific to each product line."

The low-voltage Tetra PowerMAX LED lighting system is easy to install, utilizing layout guidelines similar to other two-wire Tetra LED systems for channel letter applications. The system offers several time-saving features for installers, including pre-drilled mounting holes, 3M VHB(TM) industrial-grade mounting tape, and off-the-shelf components, such as 18 AWG wire and wire connectors. Complex wiring is also a thing of the past, since splice connectors, dip switches, multiple output banks and load balancing are no longer required.

Because Tetra PowerMAX illuminates a greater surface area across the sign face, it also enables sign builders to use fewer strokes of LEDs per sign, which helps reduce LED product costs. Additional savings in material costs are also possible, because the product works in signs as shallow as 4 inches, allowing sign builders to use less material in the construction of their channel letters.

To ensure every Tetra PowerMAX installation will perform brilliantly for years, GE not only tests for reliability, but also follows the GE Six Sigma methodology and uses the 10-step Design for Reliability process. This allows GE to design in a specified level of reliability that takes real-world conditions into account. This rigorous testing helps validate product robustness. Rather than rely solely on test data from LED suppliers, GE tests the LED, sub-system and complete system at its in-house and independent laboratories around the world.

GE Lighting Solutions, a unit of GE Lighting, is a combination of GE's light-emitting diode systems operation, formerly known as Lumination, and its commercial and industrial fixture group, formerly known as GE Lighting Systems.

Lit Letters (3 ft.)

Please email me information from this page, regarding 3 foot letters (lit). These would be placed atop a two story building to be seen from the main road. They should be sturdy with the ability to be stood upright and safely fastened in place. Thank you.
