Model MR-16 LED Lamp provides illumination levels comparable to halogen lamps but without dangerously high heat output nor high power consumption. Direct plug-in replacement utilizes 12 LEDs to generate light output of 10-12 lumens and draws only 720 mW. Lamp life in excess of 100,000 hr makes MR-16 virtually maintenance-free, allowing usage in locations where lamp replacement would be difficult. Colors include red, green, white, blue, and yellow.

Sunbrite Announces Power-Efficient, Safer, LED-Based Alternative for the MR-16 Halogen Lamp
PALATINE, IL--The Sunbrite Group of Lumex, Inc. is announcing an LED-based alternative for the hot-running, power-hungry MR-16 halogen lamp. The Sunbrite MR-16 LED unit provides illumination levels comparable to halogen lamps, but without their dangerously high heat output nor their high power consumption. Designed as a direct plug-in replacement into existing sockets, the Sunbrite MR-16 LED lamp is ideal for decorative lighting, display booths, landscape lighting, general lighting, or anywhere the high brightness of halogen is desired.
These fully solid-state lamps utilize 12 state-of-the-art LEDs to generate a light output level of 10 - 12 lumens. This is comparable to the output of a 10-watt halogen lamp, yet the Sunbrite LED lamp draws only 720 mW-- just 60 mA at 12 VDC.
In addition to its low power consumption, the Sunbrite lamp has an operating life in excess of 100,000 hours, compared to approximately 2,000 hours for halogen. This makes the Sunbrite MR-16 LED lamp virtually maintenance-free, allowing its usage in locations where lamp replacement would be difficult or inconvenient. And because of its dramatically-lower level of heat generation, the MR-16 LED lamp can be used in applications where a halogen lamp would create a safety issue or a fire hazard.
These new lamps are available in a wide range of colors including red, green, white, blue, and yellow. Due to the monochromatic nature of LEDs, these lamps produce a vivid, saturated color which is both attention-grabbing and pleasing to the eye.
Sunbrite MR-16 LED lamps are normally available from stock to 6 weeks. Pricing varies depending on color desired and quantity ordered, but it starts at $7.00 each in quantities of 1,000.
