Lumex Right-Angle Re-Lampable PCB LED Indicators Reduce Assembly Costs and Increase Color Choice Flexibility
PALATINE, IL--Lumex Inc. is announcing this unique expansion of their family of right-angle LED indicators. The SSF-LXH4RA series allows LEDs to be mounted at a right angle to the printed circuit board (PCB), without any additional spacers, mounting hardware, or assembly time. Furthermore, they are re-lampable, so virtually any standard two-leaded LED can be installed--before or after the sockets have been soldered to the board. These devices are ideal for a wide range of applications including status and fault indicators and backlighting.
Because the LED can be installed or changed at any time, these Lumex indicators allow a different LED to be installed in the field, to accommodate color or brightness issues. In addition, the re-lampable feature means that circuit boards can be assembled and soldered, with the choice of LED color and intensity made at a later point in time. This allows circuit boards to be tailored for different applications, customers, or as product variations, without the manufacturer having to stock a large number of slightly different finished boards.
Lumex SSF-LXH4RA right angle re-lampable LED indicators are available in nine different standard units, with LED colors and types including red, green, yellow, bi-color red/green, and blinking red. Both low-current (If = 2mA) and standard-current (If = 20mA) versions are available. Custom-ordered variations are limitless, as any radial leaded LED with 2.54mm (0.100 inch) lead centers can be specified. These indicators can even be equipped with photodiodes and/or phototransistors, for remote signaling applications where a right-angle board mounting is desired.
Sample orders are available from 2 - 4 weeks, with production quantities in 6 - 8 weeks. Pricing varies depending on color chosen and quantity ordered. For a standard-current red unit, pricing starts at 15¢ each in quantities of 5,000 pieces.
