Streamlight Introduces 3AA HAZ-LO Headlight With Division 1 Safety Rating For Use in Hazardous Locations

Streamlight's Super High-Flux LED Headlight Perfect for Industrial Professionals Whenever Extra Safety Precautions Are Required

EAGLEVILLE, PA - November 6, 2006 - Streamlight®, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance lighting equipment for professionals, announced today it has introduced the hands-free Streamlight 3AA HAZ-L0TM Headlight, which has received the Underwriters Laboratories Inc.'s Division 1 safety rating.

"Industrial technicians deserve to have the security of knowing their flashlights will perform under the most hazardous conditions," said Streamlight Chief Operating Officer Ray Sharrah. "Streamlight's 3AA HAZ-L0 headlight gives maintenance crews, for example, that assurance while they are working in darkened conditions where there are potential explosive substance hazards."

Sharrah added, "The 3AA HAZ-LO hands-free headlight combines an impact and weather resistant resin casing, unbreakable polycarbonate lens and the exceptional brightness and reliability of the 1-watt Super High Flux LED. For example, service technicians operating in confined, dark spaces will find the HAZ-L0 indispensable for its reliability, long run-time and durability."

The 3AA HAZ-LO headlight was approved by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. for meeting the hazardous location standard for safety with Division 1 designation, which covers its use in areas where flammable gases or liquids may be present under normal operating conditions.

Sharrah added that receiving the Division 1 safety rating for the new headlight was further proof of Streamlight's commitment to provide the highest quality products for professionals who frequently operate in dangerous circumstances.

The HAZ-L0 contains a 1-watt Super High Flux LED, offering the long life and reliability of an LED with the brightness and range of a conventional bulb - up to seven times brighter than a standard high-intensity LED. With a lifetime of 50,000 hours, the LED never needs replacing, is virtually unbreakable and produces long-range brilliance with a smooth, uniform pattern.

Sharrah said that for industrial professionals, most of whom wear hardhats for safety, the hands-free HAZ-L0 comes with a rubber hard-hat head strap as well as an elastic head strap for general use. The HAZ-LO also features a push button on/off switch and a rubber dome actuator that offers easy operation when wearing heavy gloves. All openings are "O" ring sealed for water resistance.

The 3AA HAZ-L0 offers a continuous run time of up to 11 hours of output to 25% intensity. It uses three "AA" size alkaline batteries that are easily replaced and weighs a mere 7.1 ounces with batteries.

The 3AA HAZ-L0 Headlight retails for $64.95 and is available in yellow. The headlight also meets applicable European Community Directives.
