Streamlight® Enhances Propolymer® Family with Luxeon® LED Versions of 3C and 4AA Flashlights
New Models Give Industrial Professionals State-of the-Art Lighting Technology
EAGLEVILLE, PA – February 21, 2005 – Streamlight®, Inc., a leading flashlight manufacturer for industrial uses, announced today it has expanded its ProPolymer® line of flashlights with its 3C ProPolymer® Luxeon® and 4AA ProPolymer® Luxeon® models. The new Luxeon lights are designed to deliver advanced lighting technology to industrial professionals.
According to Streamlight Vice President of Sales and Marketing Walter Kaihatu, the latest additions to the ProPolymer family of flashlights reflect the changing trends and needs of industrial users. “The Super High Flux Luxeon LED offers the long life and reliability of an LED with the brightness and range of a conventional bulb – up to seven times brighter than a standard high-intensity LED,” he said. “The 10,000-hour LED never needs replacing and is virtually unbreakable. Industrial professionals will appreciate the long life, brightness and reliability Luxeon LED technology brings to these ProPolymer lights.”
The 3C ProPolymer Luxeon weighs .94 pounds with batteries and offers a continuous run time of 5.5 hours at full intensity, with 2 additional hours of declining usable output. It uses three “C” size alkaline batteries. The 4AA ProPolymer Luxeon weighs 7.52 ounces with batteries and features a continuous run time of 4 hours at full intensity, with 2 additional hours of declining useable output. It uses four “AA” size alkaline batteries. Both models contain a one (1 Watt) Super High Flux Luxeon LED, and produce long range brilliance and a smooth, uniform pattern.
Both the 3C and 4AA ProPolymer Luxeon lights feature a body constructed of a polymer engineering resin that is virtually indestructible, shock resistant and non-conductive. Both lights are rubber booted, and have a tail-end, push-button switch for one-handed operation. The light case in each is “O” ring sealed for water resistance, and its shape has been ergonomically optimized for maximum handling comfort.
The lens in each light is unbreakable polycarbonate with a scratch-resistant coating, and the lens cover is made from the same impact resistant polymer as the body.
Available in yellow or black, the 3C ProPolymer Luxeon retails for $59.95 and the 4AA ProPolymer Luxeon retails for $49.95. They join the extensive family of Streamlight ProPolymer lights including the 2AA, 4AA, 4AA LED, 3C, 3C LED and 3N. Both lights meet applicable European Community Directives.
