Bosch Introduces High-Performance LED-Based Illuminator

New AEGIS SuperLED excels in the most demanding security lighting applications

  • Constant Light technology automatically compensates for LED degradation

  • 3D diffuser technology (Black Diamond) assures perfect evenly illuminated night-time images

  • Equally at home in critical security applications and applications requiring discreet, aesthetically pleasing solutions

Bosch Security Systems announces the launch of the new AEGIS SuperLED, a high performance LED-based illuminator with rugged IP66 rated construction and a sleek new design. Available in 850 nm and covert 940 nm infrared options, the AEGIS SuperLED is designed for the most demanding security applications.

Well suited to integrate with Bosch's Dinion cameras, the AEGIS SuperLED features Bosch's Constant Light technology which automatically controls and adjusts light output to compensate for LED degradation.

LED degradation can seriously impact on an illuminator's effectiveness. The optical output of a typical LED illuminator degrades by up to 10% within the first few months and continues to rapidly decay over the specified life of the unit. LED degradation causes reduced illumination range and poor night-time image quality, and has been a problem highlighted by security consultants, installers and end users. Now with Constant Light technology, a unique feature in all of Bosch's AEGIS illuminators, the high quality, high definition night-time surveillance images achieved at the point of installation are guaranteed to be the same throughout the five year lifetime of the product.

In addition, AEGIS SuperLED illuminators feature Bosch's innovative 3D diffuser technology (Black Diamond) which re-directs light from the foreground to the background of the camera's field of view for perfect evenly illuminated night-time images, free from hotspots, overexposure and vulnerable dark areas common with other illuminators.

Built-in power regulation means the AEGIS SuperLED can be powered direct from any low voltage power supply, this energy efficient operation enables faster, flexible installation and ensures low running costs for end users. For sites with mains only operation a special switch mode power supply is available.

AEGIS SuperLED illuminators will optimize the performance of any camera they are installed alongside, whether analog or digital, and make the most of IP platforms and intelligent video analytics by delivering high contrast, low noise night-time images that reduce network bandwidth requirement and cut down on false alarms.

With its long range surveillance capabilities (more than 300 meters), rugged IP66 construction and long life, low maintenance, surface mount LEDs, AEGIS SuperLED is the ideal choice for critical, outdoor security applications like perimeter and utility site protection. Moreover, a sleek new design means AEGIS is equally at home in city center, commercial and high-end residential applications that demand discreet, aesthetically pleasing surveillance solutions.
