Phoenix LCD display system offers surface luminosity of 1800nits (cd/m sq) and screen diagonal of 12.1 in. Measuring 1.25 in. thick, it uses backlighting and optical filter system to produce screen image viewable in bright sunlight. Field serviceable system features dimming control circuitry, and is compatible with single board computers, display adapter cards, and PanelLink(R)(DVI) interfaces.

Brilliance in a Box! - 1800 cd/m2 Sunlight Readable LCD Display
Santa Fe Springs, March 26, 2002: Densitron, the display and computer products specialist has introduced an astounding new sunlight readable LCD display system with surface luminosity of 1800nits (cd/m sq) and a screen diagonal of 12.1 inches. Measuring just 1.25 inches thick, the Phoenix uses an innovative backlighting and optical filter system to produce a brilliant high-resolution screen image that is viewable in bright sunlight.
This level of brightness is over 6 times that of a typical "high brightness" LCDs and 10 times that of a conventional CRT monitor, making the Phoenix an ideal solution for outdoor display applications.
Target markets include automated teller machines (ATMs), mobile computing, marine, aviation, test and measurement instrumentation, point-of-information kiosks and gas pumps.
Dimming control circuitry allows the Phoenix to be used in a wide range of lighting conditions, and its rugged and lightweight construction make it ideally suited for outdoors applications or in mobile environments. The backlight system is field serviceable, and uses long-life tubes, making the system very economical.
Densitron has available a variety of single board computers, display adapter cards and PanelLink® (DVI) interfaces that are ideal for use with the Phoenix display system.
