New Digital View High-Performance LCD Controller Is Ideal for Harsh Environment Monitor & Broadcast Video Applications

Morgan Hill, CA, March 5, 2008 - Digital View's new HE-1920 is a fully buffered multi-sync interface controller that provides analog and digital connections for large format, high-definition TFT LCDs plus wide operating temperature and voltage ranges, heightened shock and vibration tolerance, and conformal coating for extreme environment applications.

The HE-1920 is the latest in Digital View's new HE Series of COTS LCD controllers designed to comply with the strict standards required for the harsh environments encountered in military and rugged industrial applications. Designed to aid manufacturers building hardened panel display systems requiring advanced capabilities such as high resolution and high-definition, the HE-1920 features wide tolerance power supplies (12 VDC ± 25%), locking connectors and low-mass tantalum capacitors for maximum tolerance to shock and vibration, Mil-spec silicon resin conformal coatings, a laboratory-certified operating temperature range of - 40șC to +80șC, and calculated MTBF in excess of 100 K hours, with full RoHS compliance.

A fully buffered multi-sync interface controller, the HE-1920 provides analog and digital connections - PC, DVI & Video Interface - for a wide range of TFT LCD panels up to WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels). It features full screen image expansion of lower resolutions, image flip and invert functions, and onscreen PIP functions.

"The HE-1920, offers an inexpensive, off-the shelf COTS controller that supports high resolution formats in military or harsh environment industrial applications," said Neil Wood, Director of Product Marketing for Digital View's Display Electronics division.

The HE-1920 also features a 16 bit ITU 605 bus connector designed to permit developers to independently create proprietary hardware interfaces for the controller. The interfaces provide software managed selection pins to manage multiple input configurations. Typical examples include optical inputs, additional ports, HD-SDI, etc.

The HE-1920 measures a compact 179 mm x 120.4 mm (7" x 4.74"), and comes with a full
3-year warranty.

The HE-1920 is priced at $269.00 U.S. each in 1,000-unit quantities. It is available directly from Digital View and through the company's distribution network. Delivery is off-the-shelf.
