Isolator Ring obtains accurate pressure measurements.

Press Release Summary:

For measuring pressure of slurries, abrasives and hard-to-handle materials, isolator ring supports up to three gauges, pressure switches and transmitters. It is vacuum-filled with high-viscosity silicone fluid and permanently sealed. Gauges can be removed, replaced, or hand-rotated without interrupting process. No tools are required to change pressure instruments, which can be removed and replaced by simply turning lock ring.

New Isolator Ring with Permanent Vacuum Seal Improves Pressure Measurement

A new isolator ring, designed to provide a practical and cost-effective method of obtaining accurate pressure measurements on slurries, abrasives and hard-to-handle materials, has been introduced by Onyx Valve of Cinnaminson, New Jersey.

Unlike other rings and seals that are subject to plugging and clogging, the Onyx ring is vacuum-filled at the factory with high-viscosity silicone fluid and permanently sealed with Onyx's new "Module-Seal," a patented design with no fill port anywhere on the assembly. A sturdy .87" diameter mounting post supports heavy gauges and instruments. Up to three gauges, pressure switches and transmitters can be combined on one isolator without additional support

Pre-filled gauges, switches and transmitters are supplied separately by Onyx; customers can select any combination of isolator rings and gauges, then simply snap them together. The gauges can be removed, replaced, or hand-rotated - all without interrupting the process and all without vacuum filling. No tools are required to change pressure instruments, which can be removed and replaced by simply turning the lock ring. Additionally, no snubber is required, since the instrument's needle functions as a built-in snubber.

Further, the isolator ring improves safety and environmental protection, since process liquid cannot escape if the gauge is removed, even if process pipe is under pressure.

The Onyx Isolator Ring can be used in a variety of industries such as chemical, food and beverage, mining, pulp and paper, and wastewater treatment. Typical applications include: pressure measurement, tank level indication, monitoring long-distance pipeline pressure (to detect line breakage), monitoring pressure drop across a filter or pump (using two sensors with a differential pressure switch), measuring pump output pressure, and sending a signal to stop a pump or open a bypass valve.
