Powdersafe® System Safely Handles Suspicious Mail, Minimizes Workplace Disruption

EASTLAKE, Ohio – ENPAC Corporation has secured exclusive U.S. distribution rights to Powdersafe® – a contaminated mail isolation system for use with letters believed to contain dangerous biological or chemical agents. Developed, and comprehensively tested in Australia, Powdersafe® is lightweight, airtight and designed to both isolate the suspicious mail for inspection and provide safe transport for testing.

“In today’s mailroom, you have to be able to immediately and safely isolate suspicious mail,” says Chris Hilty, vice president of sales and marketing for ENPAC. “The challenge is to accomplish that with minimal risk to workers and little to no disruption to the workplace. That’s exactly what this new product will do. Building evacuations and work stoppages will be a thing of the past with Powdersafe®. The workplace must be able to control the threat instead of the threat controlling the workplace. Powdersafe® makes that happen.”

“The risk of receiving an item of suspect mail should be identified, assessed, and controlled. The Powdersafe® system provides the control to allow management of the incident, using sound methods”, adds product inventor Margaret Head.

The Powdersafe® system’s inner inspection/containment unit easily isolates suspicious mail up to standard 9” x 12” envelope size, as well as small packages. The unit is fitted with chemical-resistant nitrile gloves and locks with an airtight seal that allows suspicious mail to be inspected and opened safely. The outer transportation unit is built to military standards, providing maximum protection of contents during shipping.

ENPAC Corporation is the world leader in spill prevention, containment, and control products, which are sold through distributors in more than 30 nations around the globe. More information is available on the company’s website at www.enpac.com or by calling l-800-936-7229.
