Advantech Launches First 128-Channel Isolated Digital I/O Card
The PCI-1758U series are 128 channel digital I/O's starting at $625
(Cincinnati, Ohio - 01/05/2006) - The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech introduces the PCI-1758 series DIO cards. Advantech's PCI-1758UDI offers 128 inputs, the PCI-1758UDO has 128 outputs, and the new PCI-1758UDIO is a combination card with 64 outputs and 64 inputs. The PCI-1758U series has an isolated I/O design providing great features such as electronic protection from voltage spikes and noise, signal quality improvement (debouncing), common-mode voltage and noise improvement, and wide I/O ranges to allow direct connection to sensors and actuators. Reliable operation is also aided by the isolation protection, which can withstand up to 2,500 VDC for both the input and output signals.
Designed to be used in industrial environments, the outputs of the PCI-1758U cards are equipped with a watchdog timer, so in the event of a software failure, the outputs can be individually set to fail safe states. There's a programmable power-up status function to ensure safe initial output values when the system is powered on. These initial output values can also be set individually.
Each digital input channel provides an interrupt trigger function. The trigger type can be set with the rising edge and falling edge registers. If the interrupt request signal occurs, the software will service these interrupt requests. A digital filter eliminates signal data noise on input channels by filtering out pulses that are shorter than the specified timing interval and passing pulses that are twice as long.
With a universal PCI bus, the PCI-1758U series supports both traditional 5 V systems and newer 3.3 V systems, and the built-in BoardID DIP switch helps define each card's unique ID when multiple cards are installed in the same PC chassis.
