Freestyleâ„¢ Commercial Resilient Laminate Flooring Announced by SelecTech

• Interlocking tile system requires no adhesive or subfloor prep

• Installs directly over problem subfloors and existing flooring

• Made with 95% recycled plastics

TAUNTON, MA, May 23, 2003-- FreeStyleâ„¢, the first commercial resilient laminate tile installed without adhesive, was announced today by SelecTech Flooring Products. A proprietary interlocking edge and flexible resilient waterproof base allow FreeStyle to be free-laid directly over problem subfloors with high moisture content, cracks or irregular surfaces, as well as over most existing flooring, including asbestos tile, resilient, wood, concrete, VCT and carpet tile. Formulated for high-use areas in commercial, retail and institutional applications, FreeStyle requires no special installation training or maintenance and is backed by a 10-year wear warranty. It is the only commercial resilient laminate made with recycled materials and helps meet LEED criteria for recycled content.

FreeStyle requires no adhesive, moisture barrier or extensive subfloor prep, installs at rates of up to 400 square feet per man-hour, and has the lowest installed cost when compared to other hard-surface flooring. Once snapped together, FreeStyle's interlocking edges become invisible forming a monolithic appearance that can be walked-on immediately. Tiles remain in place under heavy foot traffic and point loads of up to 1,000 psi and will not shift or separate even when installed over irregular surfaces.

FreeStyle contains an anti-microbial agent that resists bacteria, fungi, mold and mildew formation and moisture does not remain trapped beneath the tiles. FreeStyle tiles can be easily removed and replaced if damaged without cutting, as well as moved and reused for a variety of temporary or seasonal applications.

18" x 18" FreeStyle tiles consist of a proprietary PVC composite made with 95% recycled plastics...including recycled carpet...a decorative top layer of printed virgin materials and a 20 mil luxury vinyl wear layer. FreeStyle tiles are also 100% recyclable. FreeStyle's resilient composition reduces noise, is oil and grease resistant, meets ADA slip-resistance requirements and provides for better comfort under foot.

FreeStyle patterns include slate-look Classic Stone and wood-grain Nature's Wood. Classic Stone is available in six colors (Heather, Terra Cotta, Beige, Taupe, Slate Blue and Hunter Green) and Nature's Wood is available in Red Oak, Cherry, Maple and Pear. Custom FreeStyle colors, patterns and logos are also available.
