Clarion NMEA 2000 Certified Interface Module Connects Clarion Marine Multimedia Source Units to Boat MFDs and Onboard NMEA Networks
New Interface Module Allows Access to Clarion Marine Multimedia System Functions from Onboard Multi-Function Display Screens
CYPRESS, Calif., -- Clarion Corporation of America, a leader in consumer and commercial mobile electronics, today announced the release of their new MW6 NMEA 2000 Certified interface module that allows Clarion marine source units to be seamlessly added to a boat's onboard NMEA 2000 network, enabling control of Clarion source units directly from the boat's Multi-Function Display (MFD) device. The MW6 offers a simple plug-and-play installation with no programming necessary. Once installed between the MFD and supported Clarion marine source units, boaters will be able to control various audio system functions, including power on/off, volume, source selection, play/pause, next/previous track and more, directly from the UI of their MFD. Additionally, the MW6 enables two-way communication between a Clarion source unit and MFD, providing the MFD feedback regarding source selection, song/track/album title, radio frequency and more to display within the GUI.
NMEA 2000 is one of the fastest growing technology standards in the marine market, and is seeing rapid adoption by boat manufacturers around the world. Clarion designed the MW6 to adhere to the latest NMEA 2000 entertainment protocols (PGNs) in order to provide maximum compatibility and take advantage of the vast functionality offered by today's advanced source units. The MW6 was designed using durable weather-resistant materials and an epoxy coated circuit board to provide years of reliable operation in the harsh marine environment.

The MW6 will be available in Q1 2017 to boat builders directly from Clarion. Across the United States, the MW6 will also be available through authorized Clarion marine distributors and retailers.
