December 3, 2004 - EtherNet/IP™ PCI Bus NIC, Model DRL-PCU-ETHIO, provides real-time access to I/O and other automation devices through integration of Soft-PLC controllers running under several real-time operating systems such as VenturCom® RTX, QNX®, VxWorks®, and Linux. Card works in PCI Universal bus and includes functional software console. It communicates with Wonderware® Soft-PLC InControl™, ICS Triplex ISaGRAF®, GE Fanuc’s Paradym-31, and Axeda®â€™s WizPLC.

Woodhead Announces the Release of an Industry First EtherNet/IP™ PCI Network Interface Card

Woodhead delivers world-class solution for deterministic I/O data acquisition in PC- based control applications

October 2004, Waterloo, Canada. Woodhead announces the release of the industry’s first EtherNet/IP™ PCI bus network interface card (NIC) to the market.

The EtherNet/IP™ NIC is designed to provide real-time access to I/O and other automation devices through integration of Soft-PLC controllers running under several real time Operating Systems such as VenturCom® RTX , QNX®, VxWorks®, Linux and others.

The solution, based on the range of applicom® intelligent network interface cards, will allow customers to connect with and obtain data from several Soft-PLC controllers and their related industrial software solutions. On release the DRL-PCU-ETHIO will be able to communicate with the Wonderware® Soft-PLC InControl™, ICS Triplex ISaGRAF®, GE Fanuc’s Paradym-31, and Axeda®â€™s WizPLC.

For added customer convenience, the new Ethernet/IP card is designed to work in the PCI Universal bus (3.3-5v signaling), is compatible with multiple Operating Systems, , and includes a functional Software Console.
