Samtec Introduces Razor Beam(TM) Space-Saving Interconnect Systems

March 2009

Samtec's high speed Razor Beam(TM) interconnect systems are designed to maximize PCB real estate with their slim, ultra-fine pitch, low profile designs. These space-saving systems are currently available in super-fine .4mm pitch (ST4/SS4 Series) and self-mating .635mm pitch (LSS Series) designs. A .5mm pitch (LSHM Series) system for parallel, perpendicular, and coplanar applications is also in design.

Razor Beam(TM) connectors are well suited for high speed applications with performance up to 10 GHz at -3dB insertion loss. The cost-effective Razor Beam(TM) contacts are ideal for high speed and rugged applications featuring undercut retention notches that increase the withdrawal force and provide an audible click when the contacts engage. The systems are available in a choice of stack heights from .4mm to .6mm for the ST4/SS4 Series and from .6mm to .12mm for LSS Series and LSHM Series.

The LSS Series includes a standard friction lock for increased normal force and an optional locking clip. The ST4/SS4 Series is available with an optional latching system.

Pricing begins at $ .054/per mated line.
