November 12, 2007 - TECHSPEC® VZM(TM) 100i lens is suited for video cameras and inspection systems that handle wide range of objects without changing working distance. Unit offers 0.25x primary magnification, 4:1 zoom ratio, horizontal field of view of 25.6 mm when using 2/3 in. sensor, and 175 mm working distance with up to 70 lp/mm resolution. Including 28 mm dia compact removable mount with optional zoom lock adapter, it features rack-and-pinion focusing movement and parafocal design.

Inspection Zoom Lens Features Increased Depth of Field


October 23, 2007, Barrington, NJ. - Edmund Optics® (EO), the premier provider of precision optical components and tools, today announced a new addition to its TECHSPEC® VZM(TM) (Video Zoom Microscope) lens family: the VZM(TM) 100i. The VZM(TM) series are parafocal zoom lens systems for video cameras, ideal for inspection systems needing to handle a wide range of objects without changing working distance.

The VZM(TM) 100i features a compact 28mm diameter removable mount with optional zoom lock adapter and works with camera sensors as large as 2/3-inch. The VZM(TM) 100i offers a 0.25x primary magnification, a 4:1 zoom ratio, and a horizontal field of view of 25.6mm when using a 2/3-inch sensor. Its working distance is 175mm with resolution up to 70 lp/mm, and it offers an increased depth of field over other members of the VZM(TM) family.

As with other lenses in the family, the VZM(TM) 100i features a rack-and-pinion focusing movement and parafocal design to eliminate the need to refocus when changing zoom levels. The i-series also offers front threading for filters and a locking iris.
