PrintXL Pro sets a new industry standard for automated Label inspection systems
Dublin, Ireland, September 8th, 2005 - Alpha Vision Design, a leading manufacturer of innovative quality assurance and inspection systems for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries will be launching PrintXL Pro at Medtec Ireland 2005.
PrintXL Pro is the latest product in Alpha Vision Design's line of label inspection systems. PrintXL Pro performs 100% quality inspection on labels and leaflets finding process defects such as streaks, spots, blemishes, colour deviations, miss-prints, poor registration, and highlights setup errors such as omitted characters, erroneous batches and incorrect labels.
PrintXL replaces unreliable manual inspection and operator judgement of printed labels and leaflets which can be tedious, subjective and very labour intensive. PrintXL Pro ensures consistent 100% print inspection of all labels and leaflets improving print quality while decreasing costs due to print scrappage, customer rejects and re-runs. Catching defects as they happen allows early intervention and by permitting operators to make alterations into what will in due course be defective labels will save time and improve workflow efficiency.

PrintXL Pro can be mounted on a press for in-line inspection or can be easily ported to a rewinder for post print analysis. PrintXL Pro was designed with ease of use in mind. During in-line inspection, PrintXL Pro will highlight to the operator any found defects so that corrective action can be taken, removing the waste and eliminating the cause. On a rewind station, PrintXL can present the defective label to the operator for further investigation. PrintXL Pro allows images of all defects to be saved and retrieved for quality assurance purposes.
PrintXL has the capability to read 1D Barcode and 2D matrix codes as well as perform Optical Character Reading and Verification on a Label. This is most useful for batch verification and tracking workflows through the factory floor.
PrintXL Pro is further enhanced by Alpha Vision Design's custom camera technology, specifically designed for reading labels on a web which significantly increases the reliability in acquiring the images of labels over current off-the shelf camera technologies. PrintXL Pro can inspect print on paper and on both reflective and clear materials.
