December 12, 2008 - Factory-calibrated and programmed, Turbo-Bar(TM) measures flow of liquids or gases (including steam) in 3-80 in. dia pipelines. EZ-Logic(TM) user interface allows local programming/display, and available output signals include scalable 4-20 mA current and scalable frequency/pulse 0-10 kHz. Capable of processing temperatures from -20 to +750°F and pressures from 125-5,000 psi, product delivers rate accuracies of ±1% or ±3% and rate repeatability of ±0.25%.

EMCO Insertion Turbine Flow Meter Provides Uncompromised Performance

LONGMONT, CO - The Turbo-Bar(TM) insertion turbine flow meter offers uncompromising performance measuring pipeline flow of liquids or gases, including steam, and significant cost savings. One model can accommodate pipeline sizes from 3 in. to 80 in. diameter. This results in a typical savings of up to 80% for 23-in. lines and 50% for 10-in. lines, compared to full-bore flow meters. Turbo-Bar design and construction reduces operating costs, with lower installation, maintenance and energy costs. There are relatively few moving parts, and pressure drop is typically 10 times less than an orifice plate flow meter. Hot-tap installation and removal under full-flow conditions reduces downtime.

The Turbo-Bar is factory-calibrated and programmed, so start-up is easy and straightforward. Plus, the easy-to-use EZ-Logic(TM) user interface allows local programming and offers a local display that alternates between flow rate and totalized flow. Its output signals are scalable 4-20-mA current and scalable frequency/pulse 0-10-kHz. The Turbo-Bar is FM-approved for Class I, Div. 2, Groups A,B,C, & D; Class II, III, Div. 2, Groups F & G; NEMA 4X, except when using a 4-20 mA temperature transmitter or a 110/220 VAC power supply option.

The turbine flow meter has a unique, low-mass rotor design, providing increased sensitivity to flow changes while maximizing rotor longevity. Its rate accuracy is ± 1% or ± 3% and rate repeatability is ± 0.25%. The flow meter can process temperatures from -20°F to 750°F and pressure from 125 psi up to 5,000 psi.

EMCO Flow Systems, a division of Spirax Sarco, Inc., has provided flow solutions for 40 years with a comprehensive line of insertion vortex, in-line vortex, insertion turbine, ultrasonic doppler, ultrasonic transit time and electromagnetic flow meters for liquid, gas and steam applications.
