Oce Announces High Quality, Dual-Ink, Production Speed Inkjet Printer
Oce CS9065 Makes its U.S. Debut at the International Reprographics Association Annual Convention and Trade Show
ORLANDO, May 11 / / -- Oce (NASDAQ:OCENY), a global leader in digital printing solutions, today introduced the Oce CS9065 high quality, production speed printer that can use either low-solvent or eco- solvent inks to create outdoor-durable prints. The dual-ink capability gives users flexibility in where the unit can be operated: in light industrial, print shop or office environments. The printer is on display here at the International Reprographics Association (IRgA) Annual Convention and Trade Show in booth #401.
The Oce CS9065 is a 65-inch wide, high speed, high quality printing system that delivers outdoor durable output. The Oce CS9065 offers true 720 x 720 dpi resolution at print speeds up to 140 ft² per hour in production (four- pass) mode. In high speed (two-pass) mode print speeds up to 245 ft² per hour can be achieved with a resolution of 360 x 720 dpi. Top print speeds of up to 452 ft² per hour can be achieved at 360 x 360 dpi resolution.
The Oce CS9065 is ideal for short run print jobs and is designed for light production environments where high quality output and outdoor durability are required. Sample applications include point-of-purchase displays, vehicle graphics, transit advertising, exhibit graphics, banners, museum graphics, wayfinding and window displays.
Low-solvent or Eco-solvent Inks
The Oce CS9065 can be equipped with either low-solvent or eco-solvent inks. Low-solvent inks produce less solvent odor than full-solvent inks and offer excellent outdoor durability of up to 3 years. An optional air purification system is available for use with low-solvent inks. By actively filtering the air coming from the printer, the solvent levels in the working area are far below acceptable safety levels.
Eco-solvent inks offers customers the outdoor benefits of solvent inks, while making it possible to use the printers in a regular office or small print shop environment without the need for an air purification system. Users can select from a wide variety of coated and uncoated media designed for use in select indoor and short- to mid-term outdoor applications.
Oce VariaDot(TM) Dynamic Variable Dot Imaging Technology
The Oce CS9065 offers superior print quality, speed and ink economy through the use of Oce VariaDot dynamic variable dot imaging technology, the next evolution of piezo inkjet technology that enables a printhead to produce dots with variable sizes versus printheads using a fixed dot size. The use of Oce VariaDot technology has many advantages and results in the following customer benefits:
Superior print quality: Finer details and smoother gradients in highlight areas and crisp colors in the mid-tones and shadows.
Double the productivity: Four-color printing is perfect for all application areas. It doubles the productivity of the Oce CS9065 because the use of two CMYK ink sets doubles the number of printhead nozzles per color
Superior ink economy: The ink usage of the Oce CS9065 is
significantly lower than the ink usage of six color printers using
fixed dot inkjet technology; 25 to 35 percent less ink is used.
Ready for Long, Unattended Production Runs
The Oce CS9065 is equipped with a motorized winder and unwinder unit enabling the use of bulk media rolls up to 200 lbs. The printer includes sophisticated self-maintenance systems on board. Under normal operating conditions, the required daily operator maintenance is limited to less than five minutes when low-solvent inks are used. Machines running eco-solvent inks require only twice-weekly cleanings.
