Absolute HAITIAN grows product offerings in U.S., Canada
With innovative precision technology and efficient energy consumption, the tiebarless, all-electric Zhafir Mercury series injection molding machines meet the needs of precision-driven projects that have become the mainstay of molding in North America. The newest member of the Zhafir family, the Mercury series is available for delivery to North America as of January 2012.
The Zhafir Mercury series is available in 50 metric tons (55 U.S. tons), 100 metric tons (110 U.S. tons) and 150 metric tons (165 U.S. tons).
At NPE2012, a Zhafir Mercury 1000-35/35 will mold 200ul medical pipettes made from medical grade polypropylene with a scalable 64-cavity mold designed and built by Cavaform International, LLC (Booth #4653). The cell will feature a turnkey solution with automation, integration and validation accomplished by Modern Technical Molding & Development (subsidiary of Cavaform) with a Yushin robot (Booth #1563) handling part removal.
Tiebarless clamp design The Zhafir Mercury series is a tiebarless, all-electric machine that uses side plates rather than tiebars to create 70 percent more valuable mold space. The machine design is 30 percent slimmer than previous models, improving molders' productivity per square foot. The symmetrical design maintains platen parallelism with clamping force focused on the center of the platen.
The toggle clamp mechanism was engineered with just two levers and a central servo direct drive for simplicity that achieves dynamic but smooth movement.
Lubrication is unnecessary, making the design ideal for clean room applications in medical and other end markets.
Unique injection unit solution The Zhafir Mercury series' two-stage injection unit design separates plastification from injection to provide an extremely high melt quality. Melt residue is prevented via a unique rinsing process. Plastification occurs immediately via a high-torque motor. The injection process is controlled by a central spindle driven by a servomotor, which shortens response time and achieves speeds of up to 500mm/sec with acceleration of over 10g.
Injection unit configuration is flexible to meet the specific demands of molding projects with three screw drives and three screw diameters available for each machine size.
All-electric design The all-electric Mercury series achieves energy savings with a system that is stable, trouble-free, and provides real-time signal transmission.
The central power supply to the drives and a new generation of inverters from KEB GmbH recirculate the braking energy back into the power grid. Servo motors with extremely low inertia reduce energy consumption during heavy acceleration.
The control system from KEBA AG features a decentralized bus system that allows as many signals as possible to communicate through a standardized field bus system that is compatible with an Ethernet. The signals are read through decentralized IOs (inputs and outputs) and emitted on the spot where they are needed. This guarantees precise timing and no losses of signal or disruptive influences. Optimized wiring and shorter cable lengths contribute to system stability and greater ease of maintenance.
