Modine Introduces New Line of Infrared Tube Heaters

RACINE, Wis., December 6, 2002 - Modine Manufacturing Company (NASDAQ: MODI) is now producing a new line of infrared tube heaters with high performance, optimum fuel efficiency, and easy service access.

"Modine is excited to announce the introduction of the new TLP series, which is a pressurized, low-intensity infrared tube system," said Christopher Schroeder, product manager. "The product, manufactured in Buena Vista, Virginia, offers several key design features which set the standard for performance and serviceability."

The TLP line is CSA-certified for both indoor and outdoor installations, as well as for both vented and unvented operation. Burner inputs are 50,000 through 200,000 Btu for both natural and propane gas models. Stocking kits are available for converting burner inputs to any other burner size, as well as for propane field-conversions. The TLP's radiant heat transfer is enhanced through the use of heat-treated aluminized steel tubes. The systems are 80% thermally efficient, which minimizes operating costs.

In addition to increased performance, the TLP controls are easily accessible for installation and service. For example, the side panels can either be slid down or removed completely for access to the controls from either side of the unit, the gas valve can be rotated 180°, a sealed burner enclosure allows for continuous operation while making manifold pressure adjustments, and the igniter and flame sensor are easily accessed by removing a single housing.

For additional information regarding the new product line please contact the Modine sales representative in your area, or call 1-800-828-HEAT.

Modine specializes in thermal management, bringing heating and cooling technology to diversified markets. Modine's products are used in light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles, HVAC equipment, industrial equipment, refrigeration systems, fuel cells and electronics.
