CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA January 13, 2009 GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions, today announced the IS-110 industrial grade server, broadening the range of compact, flexible, high performance solutions the company offers to customers requiring powerful embedded computing. The IS-110 broadens the GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms server product line - which includes the IS-100 and IS-200 products - and is also supported by the extended (five year) availability and revision control programs first announced for the company's industrial computing solutions in July 2008.

Housed in a 1U chassis, the IS-110 is powered by either one or two Intel® 64-bit Xeon(TM) dual core/quad core 1333/1068 MHz FSB processors and up to 32 GBytes of memory for optimum throughput, while flexible, high performance storage is provided by four 2.5" hot-swappable SAS/SATA drive bays and an optional DVD-ROM drive. Further configuration flexibility is provided by two full height, full length expansion slots and one low profile expansion slot.
The IS-110 is configured as standard with a high efficiency 560 watt power supply with 80 PLUS Silver certification, contributing to reduced operating cost. Reliability can be enhanced with two high performance fans in addition to the three provided as standard. Remote maintenance and BIT (built-in test) are also optionally available.
Other key hardware features include the provision of two Gigabit Ethernet controllers; an ATI ES1000 graphics controller with 32 Mbytes of video RAM; 3 Gbits/second SAS controller with software RAID support (hardware RAID support is optionally available); and keyboard, mouse, COM and VGA ports.
The IS-110 is optionally supported by GE Fanuc's Product Lifecycle Management program, which ensures that the IS-110 can be made available unchanged over a period of up to five years, thereby minimizing the cost to customers in re-qualifying hardware platforms when components or subsystems are changed. Where changes are unavoidable, customers who have ordered this service at the outset will be advised - and have the opportunity to veto - any modifications ahead of time.
